NATCA Charitable Foundation!
Puppy Raiser Paul Houck interviewed with SDIT Liberty
Interview with Lucy Nolan Fox 29
I cannot remember the last time I hit the bowling alley—decades would be an excellent guess. I vaguely recall having a blast the last time I did though, so when Alpha Bravo Canine’s Jennifer Green reached out to me about her fundraiser for disabled veterans with emphasis on the fun in the fundraiser, I was all in.…which is how I ended up on lane four of Pinsetter Bar & Bowl with demo service dog Echo rooting me on as I, for the first time in forever, South Pawed a bowling ball down the alley. Gutterball. No surprise. But what happened next?! Strike! Woo hoo!!!What fun! And Alpha Bravo Canine’s fundraiser isn’t even until next Saturday, September 23rd hosted by The Preston & Steve Show's Steve Morrison. This is all about raising funds for ABC’s critical mission to intensively train service dogs for veterans who have come back from serving our nation with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries and the like. It takes two years and $30,000 to train one dog, but what that pup can mean to a veteran with combat related disabilities is priceless. Jennifer has been a professional dog trainer for almost a decade, “All the training is customized. If there are certain things that that veteran would need, their dog would be trained to assist that veteran in that way.”Jennifer and her Marine veteran son, Kevin Daly (who has served two tours of duty overseas), saw the incredible need for these pups, so in March of 2015 established Alpha Bravo Canine—the only non-profit of its kind in Philadelphia. They can’t do what they do without you of course. So, next Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a mere $30 will get you a great day of unlimited bowling and shoe rentals, free food, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks (you’ll also find a cash bar), raffles (more than 70) and time to hang out with service dogs in training and our veterans. You don’t have to bowl to have fun, but it would be super fun to grab your family and friends and put together your own bowling teams for some friendly competition. Jennifer says the top individual bowling score of the day will get a prize! On that note, if $125 will reserve you and as many as five of your friends or family members a lane all to yourselves ($150 if you want on day of) and that includes all the other freebies. You can order ahead of time here: http://alphabravocanine.org/donate/ Just make sure to indicate in the comments section that this is for the fundraiser (this includes if you are ordering multiple tickets). You may also send a check to Alpha Bravo Canine PO Box 16030 Philadelphia PA 19114. Again, please note that this is for the fundraiser. Thanks so very much for helping Alpha Bravo Canine’s critical mission!
